April Thomas, LCSW

I’m April, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado and Texas. I specialize in supporting men and women in all stages of life and I provide support for individuals diagnosed with chronic medical conditions and for loved ones navigating the emotional impact of ongoing health challenges.

My hope is that you feel supported as you move toward healing from the overwhelm or pain life has placed in your path.

Professional Background

My clinical perspective was shaped early, growing up in a rural community where I witnessed the impact of death and chronic illness in areas with limited resources. Those experiences led me to pursue a Master of Social Work degree and advanced clinical training. I am completing a Doctor of Social Work degree, strengthening my expertise in advanced clinical practice and program development.

I have experience in medical and rehabilitation settings, supporting individuals navigating cancer, neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, including concussion and stroke, spinal cord injury, and limb loss. This work informs my approach to chronic medical conditions, sudden health changes, and the identity shifts that often follow.

I am completing advanced training in eating disorder treatment, further strengthening my ability to support individuals navigating complex relationships with food, body image, and self worth, particularly when these concerns intersect with medical conditions, trauma, or life transitions.

Not every diagnosis or loss makes sense.

My role is to provide support when life shifts without warning, offer space to process the impact, and help you determine what comes next.
